Water and Oil Separator Box (SAO)

Efficient treatment of oily effluents with simplicity, safety, and environmental compliance.

The CCLM Oil-Water Separator (OWS) was developed to remove free oil, grease, and settleable solids present in effluents generated by vehicle washes, mechanical workshops, gas stations, transport companies, industries, and maintenance centers.

Operating by gravity, the system offers a practical, economical, and low-maintenance solution to meet environmental requirements and ensure proper disposal or referral to further treatment stages when necessary.

Available models (flow rate per hour):

  • 1,000 liters/hour
  • 3,000 liters/hour
  • 5,000 liters/hour
  • 10,000 liters/hour

Reasons to invest in a Separator Box

Water and Oil:

  1. Environmental compliance: Helps meet the requirements of environmental agencies, reducing the risk of fines and penalties.
  2. Environmental protection: Prevents oil, grease, and solid waste from contaminating sewer systems, waterways, and soil.
  3. Operation without energy consumption: The process occurs by gravity, without the need for pumps or electromechanical equipment.
  4. Low maintenance: Simple, robust system designed to facilitate cleaning and inspection operations.
  5. Excellent cost-benefit ratio: Low operating costs combined with a long equipment lifespan.

Testimony

"After installing the CCLM Oil-Water Separator (OWS), we were able to adapt our system to environmental requirements in a simple and efficient way. The equipment is robust, easy to operate, and has brought much more safety to our operation."

7 advantages that make a difference in your operation:

  • Avoid fines and help with environmental compliance: It retains oil, grease, and solids before disposal, contributing to meeting the requirements of environmental agencies and sanitation companies.
  • Protects the sewer system and equipment: Prevents oily residues from reaching pipes, inspection boxes, pumps, and treatment systems, reducing the risk of blockages and corrective maintenance.
  • Fully gravity-driven operation: Eliminates the need for electricity consumption during the separation process, reducing operating costs.
  • Compact and easy to install: Designed to take up little space, it can be installed in workshops, gas stations, car washes, garages, factories, and logistics centers.
  • Low maintenance requirements: Simple system to operate, easy to clean, and requires infrequent interventions when used correctly.
  • High resistance to corrosion and chemical agents: Manufactured from materials resistant to corrosion and typical industrial environment conditions, providing a long service life.
  • Customized solution for each project: Available in different capacities and sized according to the flow rate and characteristics of the oily effluent in each application.

  • Does the Oil-Water Separator Box remove any type of oil?

No. The SAO (Sanitary Oil Extraction) system is designed to remove free (insoluble) oil—that which is in the form of large droplets and floats on the surface of the water. For emulsified (finely mixed with water) or dissolved oils, it is necessary to supplement the treatment with other equipment, such as Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) and other physicochemical processes, according to the characteristics of the effluent.

  • Is SAO required by law? Who needs to have one?

Yes. Companies that generate oily effluents typically need to treat them before disposal, in accordance with applicable environmental legislation and the requirements of the environmental agency or local utility. In many cases, an Oil-Water Separator (OWS) is the solution used to meet these requirements.

  • Does the equipment require electricity? Is maintenance complicated?

No. The SAO (Sewer System) operates by gravity, without motors, pumps, or electricity. Maintenance is simple and periodic: it basically consists of removing the oil accumulated on the surface and cleaning the solids that have settled at the bottom. The frequency depends on the volume of effluent generated, but in general it is a straightforward and low-cost operation.
